Back to the civilian world.....and loving it!

Well last Monday Serg started back at his civilian job and he's loving it. He will be back at Fort Meade to out process next week to make his status as a civilian final. He's back to 1 weekend a month, 2 weeks a year for another 10 years!

My Ancestors

Middle row: Alfonso, Elvira, Ismael, Grandma Guadalupe Fuentes, Enrique, Grandpa Guadalupe Fuentes, Lupita and Richard
Front row: Rudolpho, Marcos and Sergio's Mom Edubina

I've always been interested in finding the history of my family and recently I signed up Ancestry.com and committed myself to going back as far as possible. I've had tons of help from my Grandma and Dad and Serg's aunts have been wonderful in finding me old photos! There are definitely highs and lows, I get very frustrated when I hit a wall, but it's all worth it when I catch a break. Since the Fuentes reunion is 3 short weeks away I'm making a huge push to get a nice binder together for them. I will continue on with all 4 families, the Bickford's, Carpenter's, Fuentes and Rangel's. Anyone that wants access just ask!

Happy Be-lated 21st Birthday to My Brother

His birthday present from me...its a little bit of an inside joke, but funny nonetheless

The day we moved in my brother came up from Camp Lejeune to visit. It was a week after his actually birthday (5 April) but we had a small cake for him and gave him his presents. Happy Birthday Rich!

And we're back! Lots and lots of updates....

Loading the last of our stuff into the truck
2 cats, 1 dog and us.....truck loaded and ready to roll...
A tired Kenzie taking a nap amidst all the boxes....
And we're spent.....

Well the move went great and we're now officially Virginian's again. We took a day to pack the truck and then drove the 2 hours south and unpacked the truck the next day. Much thanks to my parents since they were the only help with got! We definitely could not have done it without them!

Final Countdown: 2 days

Please excuse my creepy husband....haha
Well 2 days left....and I just want to be done! :) Serg and I (mostly Serg), over the past couple weeks have moved all the boxes to the main level, in hopes that this will make loading the truck a whole lot easier. We will be loading tomorrow evening and then early Friday driving 2 hours south to our new home! Wish us luck and say a prayer for us that everything goes smoothly. The forecast for the next 2 days: RAIN! yay! Should make moving fun! Hope everyone is doing well!

First Tournament of the Season

Well this past weekend Serg had opening day for baseball. The yearly pre-season tournament for his league. Serg did well, although I can't say the same for his team. They did pretty horrible on Saturday, but pulled out a win on Sunday. Overall they finished 5th out of....6.... Hoping this Saturday's season opener goes a little better. All I can ask for is that Serg plays well, and at least he did this weekend!

Kenzie Gets a Haircut

Today Kenzie went to get a much needed haircut. Her daddy thought she deserved a treat bigger than her! A $17 dollar treat! Man I wonder what our actual daughter is going to "deserve"? Can't wait for that!
Yes she got a bow....the one and only time....

Exactly 2 Weeks

Living Room
Kitchen
The Patio

In exactly 2 weeks, hopefully we'll have just finished moving and we'll be relaxing in our new place in Virginia. I have mixed emotions, happy to finally be back in Virginia and close to family, nervous that the move won't go as planned, sad that our active year in the military is done, disappointed that we're only moving into an apartment instead of a house and excited to start a new chapter in our lives, most importantly, together. I've attached a couple pictures of the new place empty, but I'll make sure to post pictures of the move and of the house decorated! Wish us luck!

Our "Kids"....because I haven't posted in awhile
