Serg and I wanted to create a place for our family to come and see how we're doing, and also have a place that they can easily keep in touch. We will try to update regularly and also have a link to pictures of us, and the places we go.
First of all, for those of you who don't know, Serg has been activated with the Army for 1 year in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. His report date is at the beginning of May, and we will be moving to Fort Meade, Maryland at the end of May. For all those wondering, he should not be deployed. His primary job will be to travel to different bases east of the Mississippi to teach a refresher course to other combat camera's before they deploy. We are both very excited! This will be an awesome opportunity for Serg! We are also hoping that he will promoted to Staff Sergeant within the first few months of his activation.
Also, my brother Cameron (Kate) joined the Marine Corps and left for boot camp in February. He will graduate at Parris Island at the end of May. We miss him so much! The worst part is not being able to talk to him. I think that we're gotten so used to emailing and text messages, snail mail has been a huge adjustment! From his letters, he tells us that he is doing good. He's very positive and is glad that he is there. We're counting down the days, I've never been so proud of him!
Serg had his first baseball games of the season this weekend. His team the Northern Virginia Knights are playing in a 2 weekend tournament. They won there first 2 games and will now play in the semi-finals next Saturday. Serg played good, with a few great hits! I've included some pictures from Saturday.
I believe thats it for now. We hope that we are able to keep in touch with our family a little better this way!
Love you all,
Kate and Serg
