This weekend Serg and I went with my parents and my sister to see my brother on Liberty Sunday from his MCT training. We got down to Camp Geiger (Jacksonville, NC) late Friday night. We went to Topsail Beach on Saturday while we waited for Sunday to roll around. It couldn't have been a more perfect day. The water was warm and there were great waves! The wind was blowing just enough so it wasn't HOT. After the beach we hit the pool and then went to a delicious dinner at Texas Roadhouse! Sunday we arrived at Camp Geiger to see Cameron. He completed a month in the field early Saturday. He graduates from MCT (Marine Combat Training) on Tuesday morning and immediately following the graduation he will catch a bus to Pensacola, FL for his next phase of training, MOS School. It was great seeing him. He seems to be doing really well! He will hopefully coming home soon for recruiter's duty.

God is Awesome....and He Tests Us.....

Handmade in Mexico. I'm going to put them in my Mexican themed kitchen.
This is on the window above the front door.

It was soo beauitful!!

Yesterday was an awesome day! My mom and sister drove up from Virginia to spend the day with me. We went to lunch and then drove down to Annapolis (Maryland's Capital) to do a little sightseeing and shopping. Well we ended up doing a lot of shopping, but I got some great stuff! God blessed me with awesome relationship with the women in my family. I love them more than words can say. I had such a great time with them.
...........
Last night after Mom and Meg had left I was sitting at the computer and I looked out the window and saw this beautiful rainbow. It is such a beautiful reminder that God is so amazing. There is just NO WAY all of this just appeared.

Then......later last night after watching the college world series I got the craving for toffee crunch and munch (Kenzie and I share this amazing treat!) so Serg and I went on a mission to find a grocery store that was still open (Kenzie needed food as well). The first one we went to was closed so we drove a little farther to another one. With luck it was open. We got our stuff and on our way out, a couple was out by there car with the hood of their car up. They told us that their car was overheating and that they had no gas to get home. I am always skeptical about just giving money to people after getting scammed in high school. I never mind giving homeless men coupons to McDonalds, but I try to never give money so they can just spend it on whatever. With the high prices of gas, I don't know if it was a scam, but Serg and I told them that if they met us at a nearby gas station we would put gas in their car. We only put in $15 but I feel like God put us in that situation to help those people. If Serg or I was in that situation I sure would want someone to help us. God blessed us with enough money for everything we need and even things we don't, like shopping with my mom and sister and having lunch with them. I thank God for putting us in the position to help people, because there were times when we literally had nothing to give. God has been so wonderful to us and we are so blessed.

God is so amazing.....

God bless all our family and friends! We love you!

Assateague Island

On Friday, Serg had off work so we drove 2 hours to the ocean. We went to Assateague Island, which is different from many beaches because its also a National Park. There are no hotels or restaurants. It is very quiet! They have wild horses roaming the beaches and surrounding areas. The horses are descended from domesticated stock that grazed the island as early as the 17th century. I would definitely recommend visiting. Serg and I are definitely going back this summer and staying at the campground they have on the beach.

Grilll Masta.....

Today I went to a framing class to learn to....frame. I had a great time! I went in with just a 5x7 picture and we did the rest in the class. We cut the wood and glued together the frame, cut the glass and cut both mats. It was awesome. *hint hint* if you need any framing done....you can come to me! :)
While I was gone, Serg went to the store and got us a brand new grill and table set. This is the first place that we've lived that we've actually had the room to have them! Last night we went to the store and bought a bunch of food to grill with! For our first grilled meal I made steak kabobs, potatoes and corn on the cob. Let's just say dinner was delicious! To quote Serg..."I don't even need A-1 on this steak its so awesome!". And Serg LOVES A-1. I've included a picture of our food on the grill and Serg sitting down to eat. We'll have to plan a time for everyone to come up and grilllll with us! :D I hope everyone is doing good...and to all of our family and friends in VA I hope you're not melting. This heat is ridiculous! Texas family....you are insane, I can't handle this!

Vet Trip for the Animals

Well today was the yearly trip to the Vet for all our "kids". Serg went with me this time, because of MacKenzie's aggression problem. Last year was quite an experience with 2 cat carriers and trying to keep MacKenzie from attacking the other animals. This time went off without a hitch though. The animals were great and are all up to date on their shots now. They are all pooped tonight, it was quite an experience for them! Here is a photo of MacKenzie and Benji. It was taken today after Serg got home from work. Benji took a nap on Serg's leg and I couldn't resist taking a picture of it.
