I want to congratulate you both on such a fine website. I can really appreciate all the hard work that you've put into it's design. I am truly ashamed that I haven't visited more often. After all the time that has passed since you've recorded the interview with Grandpa Carpenter, I finally had the courage today to watch it in it's entirety. All through out my life I have always been interested in what my Dad had experienced during his time in the military. However, I was afraid to explore his past, because, at an early age I sensed that he was never comfortable reliving those moments he spent overseas, during WWII. I had heard bits and pieces, of course, but, not until the past few years have I seen him open up and talk. Unfortunately, even though 65 years have gone by since the war, it seems just like yesterday to him. I have seen Dad get very emotional when he tries to relate his experiences, so, when I had learned that you guys had taped an interview with Dad, I was very excited to finally hear his story. At the same time I was very apprehensive, because, I knew that he would be reliving a lot of bad memories, and, I had a hard time seeing him get so upset. But, now that it's over, I believe that he is relieved to have spent the time with you, telling his tale. After watching the interview, I have seen a side of Dad that I have never known before. I am very proud of his service to his country, and, I am especially proud of his courage that he displayed in sitting in front of a camera, fielding the sensitive questions that were asked of him. Thank you so much for your efforts....I am very grateful. Love, Uncle Mike
